Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position):
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field. A combination of college coursework and relevant training or professional development may substitute for a degree.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in child advocacy and parent outreach with school age children.
- Experience tutoring in a K-12 classroom setting.
- Experience supervising and training adults.
- Knowledge of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act as reauthorized as the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015.
- Knowledge/experience related to the effects of trauma and poverty on children.
- Experience analyzing data to evaluate program effectiveness and improvement needs.
- Adept at communicating with students and/or parents in need, making a variety of community social connections for students, parents, and teachers.
- Strong and effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use a computer for correspondence, data tracking and reporting.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with school staff, community service organization staff, students, and families.
- Must have and maintain a valid State of Alaska driver’s license, current insurance, and vehicle registration.
