Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position):

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field. A combination of college coursework and relevant training or professional development may substitute for a degree.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in child advocacy and parent outreach with school age children.
  • Experience tutoring in a K-12 classroom setting.
  • Experience supervising and training adults.
  • Knowledge of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act as reauthorized as the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015.
  • Knowledge/experience related to the effects of trauma and poverty on children.
  • Experience analyzing data to evaluate program effectiveness and improvement needs.
  • Adept at communicating with students and/or parents in need, making a variety of community social connections for students, parents, and teachers.
  • Strong and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use a computer for correspondence, data tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with school staff, community service organization staff, students, and families.
  • Must have and maintain a valid State of Alaska driver’s license, current insurance, and vehicle registration.
