The Bryn Mawr School seeks a full time, growth-minded Middle School Math teacher to begin August, 2025. The goal of the Bryn Mawr School math faculty is to develop in our students an understanding and love of mathematics, with a vision for its importance and relevance in our technologically sophisticated world. Our curriculum focuses on understanding mathematical concepts and applying mathematical skills to the logical and critical thinking processes involved in problem solving and real-life situations. Through exploring ideas both with and without the aid of various technologies, students gain an insight into the historical foundations of mathematics and the excitement of mathematical discovery.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Teach four sections of 7th grade math (Pre-Algebra/Algebra), Classes typically are between 15-18 students.
  • Lead an advisory of 10-12 students.
  • Serve on departmental, grade level, and divisional faculty teams.
  • Provide a safe, predictable, and supportive environment for all students in all settings.
  • Implement methods and practices to ensure that lessons engage students and allow them to build critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Work creatively and collaboratively with colleagues to develop and plan curricula.
  • Recognize the relationship between social-emotional learning and academic performance and commit to developing and teaching the whole child.
  • Provide assessments and feedback that help students build appropriate skills and content mastery.
  • Authentically engage in annual self-reflection and goal-setting; demonstrate progress toward goals; remain open and responsive to feedback from students, caregivers, colleagues, and administrators, and embrace a growth mindset.
