DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The Membership Systems Specialist works in the Office of Advancement for the Smithsonian Institution. This position delivers production and systems support for the Institution’s two new museums - the National Museum of the American Latino and the Smithsonian American Women's History Museum. It offers the opportunity to work in partnership with a team of dedicated staff while directly serving a diverse group of membership programs. The Specialist runs production jobs to produce data for direct mail, telemarketing, text and online campaigns, regularly scheduled reports, data extracts, and data uploads. The incumbent troubleshoots and resolves membership systems issues by identifying causes, assisting with remedies, and advising on error prevention. This person serves as a programming specialist by reviewing specifications, writing simple programs, and creating and executing test plans as part of the development life cycle. Collaborates with business users across Smithsonian Institution membership teams and developers to improve membership data, deliver regular and ad-hoc data sets and reports and identifies tasks that are repetitive and do not require review, participates in automation of those tasks. The incumbent serves as an in-house specialist on the membership portion of the Advancement CRM.
