The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum is in the middle of a $285M campaign that is transforming the Museum on the National Mall and is expanding upon its model fundraising organization, one that will meet the growing needs of one of the world’s most visited museums. The Advancement Team at the National Air and Space Museum seeks experienced and creative candidates to fill the position of Membership Program Manager to oversee its direct response fundraising operations. The National Air and Space Society membership program and the Wall of Honor programs both raise unrestricted funds for the Museum. The Membership Program Manager will be responsible for partnering with department leadership to develop and implement strategies for growth in membership and revenue, as well as member stewardship. Responsibilities include management of direct marketing program; event planning and execution; collaboration and counsel with Smithsonian Co-op programs; ensuring delivery of member benefits; and oversight of the various vendors that support the direct response program.
