Description:
The Materials Handler II works closely with the Logistics Lead/Facility Leadership to ensure the success of the day-to-day operations of the RxO Logistics team. This is a hands-on position that assists the Supervisory team with managing labor, supporting, and guiding the workflow and processes, training/cross-training new and tenured associates in all functions required. They help to provide continuous improvement ideas and implementation of new processes to team members to ensure consistency and understanding.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Understand product/data flow through the entire Logistics process (i.e. Receiving unload, Receiving, put away, Letdown, Picking, Staging, and Shipping processes)
- Identify, diagnose, document, and resolve associate/process/software issues – understanding the root cause and steps to correction
- Communicate internally and externally, via in person, phone, and email with support, associates, leadership, vendors and carriers.
- Perform visual audits of associates following SOP’s for accuracy and consistency
- Assist Supervisor/Lead with ensuring that all outbound shipping jobs meet their scheduled carrier pick ups
- Be a point of contact for associate questions on errors, processes and discrepancies
- Completes projects and tasks as assigned by Leadership Team
- Maintain clean and safe work environment
- Assist Supervisor and/or lead associates when necessary
- Assist with training current and new Logistics associates on process changes, system updates etc.
- Participate in/or conduct departmental meetings in the absence of the Logistics Lead.
- Make recommendations for improving the processes and procedures
- Be proficient in all functions within their direct area of responsibility

Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- +2 Years related experience
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with both associates and leadership
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to learn and maintain Warehouse Management software training
- Knowledge of PC’s and working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel & Outlook
- Ability to use material handling equipment (pallet jacks, ladders, cart, etc.) and lift/carry supplies up to 40 lbs
- Forklift Certified – Stand Up reach style and Sit Down style
- Ability to work in a standing/walking position for up to 12 hours
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as requested by Supervisors and Manager
- Ability to maintain confidentially
- Knowledge of general warehouse processes and paper flow
- Knowledge of SAP
