Duties

The Mason is involved in construction and repair of walls, foundations, partitions and other structures of brick, block, tile, concrete, glass or similar materials.

In this position, you will:

  • Construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions other structures or systems of brick, block, tile, concrete, glass, or other similar materials.
  • Line courses, spread mortar and finishes joints to match adjacent structures.
  • Plan elements of the job and chooses materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Install appropriate scaffolding, protective Masonite floor and wall coverings and other specialized applications when required.
  • Maintain and repair all assigned masonry on high, low and related areas of the building.
  • Occasionally works with enameled, glazed, and unglazed ceramic, resilient, or acoustic tiles.
