Marketing Technology & Operations Leader

 

Description:

This role is responsible for leading a team that increases marketing's business contribution and implementing marketing strategy by operationalizing and optimizing marketing processes, data, technology, and measurement, enabling marketing to be more efficient and effective. This role acts as an internal consultant to marketing leaders who leverage marketing resources and technology to implement their marketing strategies. This leader touches all aspects of Enterprise Marketing and plays an integral role in its success, leveraging technology and focusing on the end-to-end process. Marketing Technology Optimization

Define and implement marketing's technology vision, strategy, objectives, and roadmap; work with marketing leaders and other appropriate functions to create a technology roadmap that is aligned to key marketing KPIs.

Outlines marketing technology roles and responsibilities and evaluating the maturity of skills and process required to effectively adopt, utilize, and operationalize new and existing technologies; gathers and disseminates internal and external marketing technology best practices.

Prioritizes, sequences, and manages implementation and enhancement projects according to resource availability and timelines in alignment with agile methodology best practices.

In partnership with Enterprise Technology leaders:

Document marketing systems architecture, assessment of marketing systems, and development of a strategic technology roadmap.

Keep up to date on marketing technology landscape expansion and trends to provide optimal recommendations for new technologies.

Advocate for marketing technology needs to Enterprise Technology.

Support the planning of the technology budget and contribute to the allocation process.

Marketing Operations Optimization

Provide oversight and coordination of cross-marketing processes including intake, workflow, and execution; manager for marketing portfolio and operations lead.

Identify, proactively implement, and govern operational improvements that meet marketing and business needs.

Deliver effective change management and communications for process reengineering within marketing.

Improve marketing agility with streamlined processes, continuous process improvement leveraging technology such as Workfront.

Create governance for enterprise-wide resources led and managed by Enterprise Marketing, e.g., Digital Asset Management (DAM).

Serve as business owner of marketing fulfillment, partnering internally to ensure fulfillment needs are met and there is vendor optimization.

Marketing Analytics and Performance

Lead marketing data strategy development and infrastructure deployment, identifying data and technology needs and partnering with functional areas to implement, and ownership of marketing data process governance.

Support impact-level marketing measurement and executive reporting on marketing's contribution to the business. Analyze periodic measurement reports, making recommendations to improve marketing's effectiveness and impact.

Portfolio Management/Resource & Capacity Planning

Lead comprehensive portfolio management and resource capacity planning through project management capability (Marketing Operations & Portfolio Management Lead and five project managers).

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, marketing operations, management information systems or equivalent.

8+ years of marketing technology and/or operations experience or digital marketing leadership role.

Notable influencing skills to motivate stakeholders with competing ideas and opinions to work toward a common goal.

Highly strategic and proactive mindset with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate strategies, processes, and plans in a way that gains buy in and support for implementation.

Highly collaborative across all levels of management and associates.

Strong change management skills, with ability to lead team and support others through change.

Deep understanding of marketing technologies and how to optimize application; preferred proficiency in the following: Workfront, Adobe Experience Manager, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Strong management skills to lead and develop staff and cultivate strong relationships with internal and external partners. Experience leveraging best practices from external vendors.

Organization, prioritization, and project coordination skills to work across multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Experience leading, managing, and coaching teams in agile environments and delivering outcomes through agile methodology best practices.
