Description:

The individual in this position will:

  • Create and execute successful marketing campaigns across various platforms.

  • Manage websites and social media profiles using WordPress, Drupal, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

  • Update website content, registrations, notifications, and event details.

  • Lead the transition to a new website in 2024-2025, ensuring content relevance and strategic organization.

  • Handle list management and distribution of students, clients, mentors, speakers, program attendees, partners, and other stakeholders, using programs such as MailChimp and listserves.

  • Design digital and print marketing materials, including posters, banners, and event signage.

  • Utilize social media and website to recruit program participants, monitor and manage digital analytics, and track metrics.

  • Design and edit graphics, photography and video content for website, marketing materials, and social media using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Collaborate on the annual Impact Report with the Communications Specialist .

  • Learn and adhere to the university’s brand and trademark policies and procedures.

  • Attend the Center’s programs and events to capture award photos and video, and communicate outcomes via website and social media. Some programs and events occur outside of regular business hours.

  • Perform outreach activities such as student orientations, class visits, business conferences, and community events.

A successful candidate will have strong experience in marketing, managing business social media accounts and associated analytics, developing and managing web content, graphic design, writing, and public communications . Familiarity with a university entrepreneurship center or small business programs and ventures are a plus.

  • Programs supported through marketing and social media role: John Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, CyBIZ Lab, ISU Startup Factory, Go-To-Market Accelerator, 1 Million Cups, CYstarters, Pappajohn Iowa Business Plan Competition, Pappajohn Student Entrepreneurial Venture Competition.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
