Marketing Manager

Description:

As Marketing Manager at Geben Communication, you will be responsible for researching prospects, creating and overseeing processes to nurture relationships with prospects and referral sources, and supporting the infrastructure of our new business development efforts. This role is ideal for someone with demand gen experience who understands the systems that create highly effective business development teams. You love data and spreadsheets, thrive managing details that make processes work, and are highly motivated by growth.

Your primary focus will be providing support to Geben's revenue generation operation. Rather than involving direct sales responsibilities, the position centers around lead generation, delivering administrative support, overseeing and implementing intricate processes, and sharing insights and trends to drive our email and social media. In total, these efforts greatly amplify the efficiency of team members who are responsible for increasing Geben’s revenue.

While you need to be a self-starter and thrive working independently, this role will work closely with our CEO, internal team, department leads, and our external lead generation partner to drive the growth of the agency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategize and execute the pre-sales lead gen and digital nurturing process. (Note: As an agency, Geben has a digital marketing department. We are very interested in speaking with those who have conceived and executed lead-gen strategies (e.g., paid social, content marketing, email, thought leadership, etc.). However, we also have a team of people internally who can help support that function. Let’s call it a nice-to-have, not a must-have. Though preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate these skills.)
  • Update the CRM system with contact information, meeting notes, next steps, and deadlines to ensure accurate prospect data tracking.
  • Initiate and oversee digital prospect nurturing and follow-up initiatives
  • Conduct thorough research on prospects before introductory calls, preparing detailed briefings that highlight areas where our communication services can provide value.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive capabilities decks for key service areas
  • Develop summary emails after introductory calls, outlining key takeaways and next steps in the business development process.
  • Maintain regular communication with our lead generation partner, sharing feedback, trends, and data to optimize future outreach strategies.
  • Support the creation of proposals, collaborating with the team to ensure proposals are comprehensive and tailored to prospect needs.
  • Implement a systematic approach for following up on proposals, ensuring timely, relevant communication that increases the odds of closing a deal
  • When a prospect decides to move forward with a proposal, update the revenue tracker and inform the VP of Client Services to initiate account staffing discussions.
  • Facilitate the contract process by sending contracts via DocuSign and managing the transition from business development to client services upon contract signing.
  • Collect and maintain data on the prospect journey and trends in our business development activities.
  • Analyze business development data to provide insights to company leadership, informing strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the internal marketing team to provide insights for lead-generation-focused email and social media campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Three+ years professional experience, preferably in a role(s) that involved process and project oversight and/or top-of-funnel lead generation. Business development, sales, or marketing experience is preferred. Agency experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software, project management tools, and Keynote (or willingness to quickly learn).
  • Ability to conduct research and gather insights to support prospect engagement.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet and work well under tight deadlines.
