ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.
SOME OF THE THINGS YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
The Marketing Coordinator will be tasked with completing various marketing and communication related tasks which may include but are not limited to:
- Work collaboratively with the marketing team to plan and execute strategies, campaigns, and promotions for Cal Poly Pomona Enterprise units.
- Design marketing material in both print and digital formats (posters, flyers, brochures, emails, digital signs, social media posts, etc.)
- Maintain collaborative, professional, and personable relations with team members, leadership staff, and clients.
- Analyze marketing data and campaign results (conversion rates, traffic, sales, etc.) to help shape future strategies.
- Ensure projects are produced on time and adhere to pre-determined timelines and budgets.
- Take an initiative to assist underperforming units by recommending marketing initiatives to meet financial and operational goals.
- Work with marketing student assistants to help with their goals, projects, and deliverables.
- Conceptualize ideas, provide creative input, and make strategic recommendations to leadership staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Occasional work during weekends and evenings may be assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possesses knowledge of basic marketing practices and principles.
- Displays strong graphic design skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to communicate and work effectively with others.
- Able to multitask with strong organization and time management skills
- Resourceful, takes initiative, and employs sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or AA degree in marketing, graphic design, or related fields.
- 1-3 years of professional related experience.
- Proficient with Adobe programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Familiar with diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts and best practices.
- Experience in higher education auxiliary services.
