Description:
As a Marketing Coordinator, you will be a key connection between our marketing team and various departments and stakeholders across the College. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the main point of contact for assigned units, ensuring their needs are understood and met while aligning with the College's branding and messaging guidelines. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, writers, digital marketers, videographers, and project managers, to bring projects to life and deliver successful outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
Implementation and Evaluation
- Create and implement marketing plans that extend the Gies brand and assist individual units in telling their story;
- Ensure unit marketing plans meet strategic objectives and quality guidelines;
- Serve as marketing lead in communicating and collaborating with the internal team to implement unit marketing plans;
- Evaluate the success of marketing plans and proactively recommend additional or alternative approaches to reaching goals;
- Work efficiently with the project manager to clarify details of projects, set deadlines, manage approvals, and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards;
- Be creative and resourceful in identifying and executing new projects and opportunities;
- Be vigilant for any issues or concerns that arise during project execution and find solutions that maintain client satisfaction and project success;
- Review creative materials and content to ensure they meet branding guidelines, messaging consistency, and overall excellence.
Planning
- Collaborate with internal marketing team and external resources to define strategies and implement those strategies to meet specific marketing and communications goals;
- Lead planning sessions with College units to: identify target audiences, opportunities, and unit goals; develop ideas that align with strategic goals of the College; and set timelines;
- Work within set budgets to allocate marketing initiatives and resources;
- Keep with current marketing trends and identify opportunities to reach target audiences across all communication channels.
- Collaborate with Marcom team to plan new marketing initiatives for the College;
- Provide updates accurately and effectively with units, conveying strategies and project requirements and taking feedback.
Stewardship
- Build and maintain relationships across College units to develop content strategies, gaining a deep understanding of their goals, challenges, and priorities;
- Be the voice of the brand when working with College units;
- In collaboration with the brand manager and marketing manager, ensure marketing plans for individual units align with overall marketing initiatives and messages for the College, and support and enhance the Gies brand;
- Champion inter-professional/collaborative relationships and foster a culture of diversity and inclusion with the department as well as the College.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing marketing or communications plans with a strong understanding of marketing principles and strategies.
- A master’s degree in business, marketing, or communication may be substituted for 1 year of work experience.
