We are currently hiring for a Marketing Consultant to join BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. In this role as Marketing Consultant, you will manage assigned accounts to retain and grow a book of business and will be a key contact for Plan Account Executives, Consultants, and Clients. You will also coordinate all operations and support functions to anticipate and satisfy client needs.

What You Will Do:
- Responsible for the successful implementation of new clients, working with Sales Directors on the successful transition from Sales to Account Management.
- Works with Partner Plan Counterpart on overall strategy and any Request for Proposal (RFP) or bid activity for each assigned account to assure client retention.
- Works with Partner Plan Counterparts on RFPs and bids for existing accounts to assure retention.
- Uses consultative sales techniques to upsell and expand the product, program, and service offerings to assigned clients in accordance with the client specific strategy and identified needs.
- Completes the financials for all new and renewing clients in the group library.
- Partners with the Medical Director and Clinical Analytics to provide advanced analysis on the cost and utilization patterns of clients.
- Responsible for translation of current benefits and benefit modifications through the development of accurate reporting for each client’s benefits plan(s).
- Quality assures the work of team members on the benefit configurations in the system.
- Works with team members, Partner Plan Counterparts, and internal resources to provide solutions to escalated client concerns and complex client management issues.
- Provides Value Added Consultation to Partner Plan Counterparts by being the Subject Matter Expert on products, services, and programs as well as initiatives that may cross over multiple local plans.
- Helps mentor Service Reps assigned to his/her Book of Business.
- Shares best practices with colleagues in account management.
To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:
- Five years in a sales/account management environment in as an account manager/executive or professional level Service Representative role or in a professional role in an area which supports client management.
- Bachelor's degree OR two additional years of experience (for a total of seven) may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Ability to develop/maintain effective relationships with groups, agents, and potential customers.
- Knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and the marketplace.
- Effective presentation and customer service skills.
