Description:
The Manager of Business Development is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategic growth plans, focusing on profitable revenue increase, and executing those plans by engaging in sales activities to originate, negotiate, and sign new contracts. The scope of responsibility includes sales activity, strategy development and execution, market analysis and segmenting, and complex negotiations for new and emerging markets and business deal opportunities that drive healthy profitable revenue growth. This position is expected to uphold Modern Metals’ purpose and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in sales activities to originate, negotiate, and sign new contracts with existing and new customers.
- Develop and execute profitable growth strategy
- Provide leadership in the planning and implementation of strategic marketing and growth plans
- Furnish marketing advice, counsel and general staff support within the organization
- Evaluate operational issues to determine how to increase competitiveness and growth o Monitor external and internal environment of development of new market segments
- Assist in or produces feasibility studies and business plans for new product development
- Develop marketing campaigns for new products and services, including formulating specific budgets and expenditure plans for each
- Develop and maintain marketing budget
- Manage media advertisements
- Continually update job knowledge by participating in education opportunities
- Demonstrate knowledge and support of company values, purpose, vision and principles.
Key Requirement
- 3+ years of sales or business development experience
- Experience working in commercial construction and metal fabrication markets
- Knowledge of program management, manufacturing, supply chain, and operational functions.
- Understand construction industry segments
- Experience identifying and capitalizing on new areas of opportunity
- Experience negotiating complex business deals
- Strong business, sales, and financial acumen
- Dynamic relationship building and negotiation skills
- Able to problem-solve and strategically think outside-the-box
- Self-directed and able to complete projects and goals with limited supervision
