Description:

To manage a group that designs and develops the organization's strategic plan(s). Responsibility includes but is not limited to developing concepts into strategies, including quantitative analysis and recommendations; screens plans for strategic fit, feasibility, and profitability prior to presentation to senior management. Manages input from all major business units to facilitate the integration of individual business unit plans, best practices, and global and multi-discipline perspectives. Responsible for managing human capital forecasting needs. Manages portfolios of projects held by the organization. Presents information regarding strategic plans and initiatives to senior and executive management.

Responsibilities Include

Continued refinement of the Data and Technology Organization’s forward-looking workforce strategy, including workforce analytics, recruiting, retention, and reskilling strategies for the organization. Governance and oversite for the Workforce Pod in the IT DRIVE domain.

Successful leaders in this organization specialize in dealing with ambiguity, taking new ideas from concept to execution, leveraging multiple sources of data to develop strategic recommendations, project managing large initiatives, and successfully communicating (both written and verbally) with Senior Leaders. Additionally, the Business and Technology organization’s success lies in collaboration both within and outside of the Data and Technology organization, including partnering with other functions across the FedEx Enterprise to include, but not limited to: Finance, Human Resources, Communications, Vendor Management, Legal, and others.

Skills/Knowledge Considered a Plus
 

  • Solid working relationship with the global Data and Technology leadership team.
  • Ability to leverage a robust foundation of data and analytics to prioritize opportunities, identify success measures, and drive strategic recommendations.
  • Proven track record of working effectively with key support teams, such as Finance, HR, Legal, Corporate Communications, Sourcing, and Properties.
  • Extensive network across the enterprise/outside of IT.
  • Ability to leverage external firms, drawing in their expertise to complement internal thought leadership, and ability to maintain confidences and complete assignments with a high degree of discretion.
  • Proven experience in dealing with privileged and confidential or sensitive content.
  • Ability to work well in ambiguity and comfortable with leading change efforts.
  • Capable of handling multiple applications/projects simultaneously.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Familiarity with objectives of the Enterprise Business Agility organization and SAFe Agile methodologies.
  • QDM, and experience leading a Quality Action Team (QAT).
