Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for working closely with all Cargo partners from senior management to front line leaders, across all functional areas including Sales, Operations, Revenue Management, Finance and Contact Centers to support and enable the development/achievement of the Cargo Division Strategy through using data.

Plan/Forecast/Close: Manage the development and implementation of forecasting models to support approval of annual and monthly cargo forecast submissions. Drive revenue improvement by leading the following:

  • Monthly/yearly revenue forecast/plan and participate in close variance explanation
  • Revenue trend reporting for decision making (internal and competitive data)
  • Identification of revenue improvement opportunities across Cargo organization

Influence and present recommendations to key collaborators across multiple divisions, including but not limited to Sales leaders, Cargo Leadership, Sales Strategy, Finance, Accounting and Network Planning.

Revenue Reporting:

  • Facilitate/Coordinate trend analysis to drive revenue improvement strategies and tactics, applying the Revenue Management and Benchmark reports developed. In coordination with Revenue Management leaders guide revenue management regional analysts and headquarters team members in areas of opportunities and positive trends
  • Coordination of weekly/monthly meetings between Revenue Management and Sales Strategy organizations to review trends, identify areas of potential improvement and develop action plans. Identify focus flights for strategies to be developed for requiring interaction with/influence of all levels of Cargo Sales organization and Revenue Management

Reporting for Decision Making:

  • Manage a team of analysts in the development and production of analytics (descriptive/predictive). Including associated reporting for field and headquarters decision making, incorporating benchmarking, competitor analysis reporting and automation. Accurate, timely reporting is key to achieving and tracking Cargo initiatives of over $1.6 billion in Cargo Revenue. Requires regular interaction with leadership and key collaborators across Sales, Operations, Sales Strategy and Cargo Revenue Management organization
  • Development and continuous improvement of reporting will require some travel to various United Cargo sales and operations offices to understand reporting needs and comprehension

Team Development:

  • Manage a team in the areas of data collection, trend analysis and corrective action tracking and execution
  • Enhance overall staff skills and provide career development opportunities
