Description:
This critical position, reporting directly to the head of IT, is responsible for all systems and solutions within New England Biolabs’ (NEB) global SAP ecosystem. This person will work in close partnership with their business counterparts to develop process and technology strategies and roadmaps while overseeing their execution.
To perform well in this role, candidates must possess a strong combination of technical, process, industry, and leadership skills. It is critical to maintain a productive/collaborative partnership with the business teams to maintain an effective governance process, develop product roadmaps, deliver quality solutions, and motivate the teams to provide outstanding service to NEB’s global business community.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with IT leadership, business leadership, and teams to build and execute the product roadmap for NEB’s SAP, and related platforms (including finance, manufacturing, procurement, sales & distribution, warehouse management).
- Partner with key business stakeholders and technology partners (internal and external)
- Drive the assemblance and execution of platform roadmaps that support the collaboratively developed vision.
- Build, manage, and motivate a strong team of functional/technical, full-time/contract/vendor resources.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the technology and business trends in the capabilities and use of SAP and related platforms.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with external technology and service vendors (consulting, BASIS, and software vendors).
- Triage and help prioritize user requests into production support, enhancement, and project buckets.
- Drive technical and operational excellence in all project aspects, such as requirements gathering and documentation, gap analysis, solution design, implementation, and release management.
- Establish standards and processes around product feature documentation and training materials.
- Communicate and understand the impact of system changes and status to affected parties and design appropriate solutions.
- Design and maintain complex user roles, security, profiles, workflows rules.
- Propose, gain approval for, and track the annual spend associated with developing and maintaining these platforms and their use.
- Track and report the use of the platforms and communicate this data to IT and business leadership.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related field
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience as an SAP leader or process owner.
- Analytical skills for transforming defined business needs into technology products, information flows, solutions, and services.
- Strong communication, presentation, organization, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple work streams and to interface with multiple project teams and external consultants.
