We’re looking for a top-tier communications professional with a passion for storytelling, pitching business stories to media, crafting executive speeches, thought leadership narratives, virtual and live events which resonate with B2B audiences, timely action and drive business goals.
Storytelling is one of the most important tools Zillow uses when it comes to engaging with, and relating to, our partners and key collaborators including media, investors and B2B audiences. This role sits on the Real Estate Communications team within the broader Communications org at Zillow.
About the role
As Manager, Business Communications & Storytelling, you’ll work with Zillow executives, guest speakers, Zillow teammates and external partners to create all types of content and tell stories which deliver forward-looking inspiration and action around Zillow’s mission and value proposition to key audiences. Within this role, you will:
- Craft what Zillow partners hear and see from Zillow by identifying relevant industry trends and insights, owning the conceptualization, creation, iteration and final delivery of content, from high-level strategy to cross channel execution.
- Translate business goals into strategic narratives and messaging for executives to leverage when participating in industry facing events.
- Build a deep understanding of business goals to come up with strategic narratives and messaging that resonate with media and result in reliable landing coverage.
- Work in partnership with other business leaders from across the company as well as a cross-functional team of industry and government relations collaborators to ensure alignment with the overarching narrative, goals and execution.
- Be a key partner to our executives and speakers to ensure they’re confident in their message, visuals and performance.
- Lead executive thought leadership for key areas of the business and prepare executives for interviews and speaking opportunities
- - generate talk tracks, supporting points, rude Q&As, slides, media and speaker coaching.

- Experienced providing strategic support and counsel to executives or similar leadership roles; Strong executive presence.
- Strong ability to make decisions based on evolving priorities, and be confident in those decisions based on a deep understanding of the business and what needs to be prioritized and when.
- Ability to collaborate across internal partner teams including marketing, events, comms and production. A solutions-oriented partner to our leaders and teammates. Drive alignment, consensus and continued engagement across these groups amidst firm deadlines.
- Naturally curious, a strategic problem solver and able to tell a story that is bigger than key messages and product demos. Ability to focus on the why of our business as much as the what, providing broader context to our audiences that help them understand and engage with our current actions as part of our long-term strategy.
- Serve as speechwriter to senior leaders, including driving the creation and delivery of compelling, executive-level presentation materials (slides, scripts, messaging documents, and customer stories)
- A confident, clear and concise communicator who can present strategies to executives and senior leaders, lead group discussions, ask the tough questions and identify and further next steps to sustain momentum within the program development.
