Description:

Duties:
- Route orders daily in compliance with the transportation route guide; ensuring timely execution to meet the requested arrival date and secure carrier capacity
- Operate the Transportation Management System (TMS) to route orders, track carrier performance and troubleshoot any loads that may be at risk of missing Requested Arrival Date
- Ensure all new orders comply with Charter guidelines on weight and method of shipment
- Coordinate Customer Pick-Up (CPU) scheduling with customer carriers
- Escalate any trending customer-driven delivery issues to customer
- Manage load consolidation when required
- Execute urgent/expedite orders flawlessly while minimizing financial impact
- Coordinate all functions related to on-time TL and Less than truckload (LTL) shipments
- Collaborate with Inventory and Operations teams on returns and BOL needs
- Schedule appointments in WMS on all loads; working with Operations on dock capacity scheduling
- Work with Customer Supply Chain (CSC) on delivery scheduling issues
- Work with the appropriate parties on loads not scheduled by end of period
- Review previous day's dock schedule to ensure all orders shipped, if not, reschedule
- Advise Carriers of any special shipping requirements
- Cross train to support other distribution center functions
- Demonstrate understanding of logistics supply chain systems
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and a Warehouse Management System
- Must work and participate effectively in a team environment
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with carriers, customers (both external and internal) and distribution operations
- Timely and effective verbal and written communications
- Highly self-motivated and self-managed, with excellent prioritization and organization skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, internally and externally, to all levels of management
