Specific offers within the listed pay ranges are determined by a variety of factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and business needs.

Primary Responsibilities:
 

  • Maintain sufficient inventory and accuracy to ensure uninterrupted field activities
  • Ensure that activities are in compliance with laws and regulations of the host country regarding the import of equipment
  • Resolve, in collaboration with the Logistics Manager, any issues pertaining to delays in equipment delivery to Field locations and seek ways to resolve these appropriately
  • Safeguard execution of Logistics Department by establishing and monitoring procedures and protocols
  • Effectively work with department colleagues to ensure that targets are met
  • Participate in project meetings and report on progress therein
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Unload, sort, check, verify, stock, pick, pack and ship merchandise
  • Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories as required
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area
  • Preparation of documents for international shipments
  • Serve as a point of contact for emergency shipping, including after-hour and weekend on-call assignments

  • Proficient in standard business office software
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to think independently and handle multiple projects through to completion
  • Demonstrated independent work initiative, sound judgment, diplomacy, analytical ability and professional demeanor
  • Able to make effective presentations to diverse groups
     

Education / Experience:
 

  • Associate Degree, with logistics/warehousing background
  • Multilingual candidates strongly preferred
  • Basic Excel experience
  • Prior experience of working in logistics/supply chain/transportation function with a basic knowledge of logistics processes and procedures
  • Basic knowledge of import/export and customs regulations
  • Position is located onsite at Cogent Communications' Sterling, VA distribution center
