Locum Pathologist

Description:

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is seeking locum pathologists for full-time anatomic pathology coverage, including cytology. This temporary position runs from April 21, 2025, to August 31, 2025, with at least a two-week commitment per month.

Pathologists will work on-site for 8-9 hours per day with 24-hour on-call responsibilities from a hotel (no call room available).

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform full-time anatomic pathology duties, including cytology

• Interpret and analyze large cancer resection cases

• Collaborate with a team of pathologists, PAs, and cytotechnologists

• Maintain high diagnostic accuracy and efficiency in a high-volume setting

• Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and reporting

Requirements:

✅ Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology
✅ Active NJ Medical License (must be valid before applying)
✅ Highly proficient in surgical pathology, particularly large cancer resections
✅ Experience in high-volume or academic cancer centers preferred
✅ No DEA or additional certifications (BLS, ACLS) required

Work Schedule & Additional Details:

• Full-time (8-9 hours per day)

• On-call duties from hotel (24-hour coverage on scheduled days)

• No anticipated surgical procedures required

• Support Staff: 2 PAs, 2 cytotechnologists, and office staff

• EMR System: EPIC
