Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Control vehicle access to the museum’s driveway and loading dock
- Issue temporary parking permits for vehicles in the museum’s driveway and loading dock when applicable
- Help ensure that the Loading Dock /Mailroom is a secure storage facility by limiting access to authorized persons
- Monitor pedestrian traffic via the staff entrance
- Schedule and assign immediate prioritizing of loading dock and driveway use for shipments and events
- Complete and process applications for any permits for the use of public right of way during shipments
- Receive, inspect, record and deliver UPS, FedEx, DHL and other courier parcels.
- Maintain and update UPS and FedEx accounts
- Assistance and training staff with use of UPS and FedEx Online Ship Manager services
- Preparation of outgoing parcels as requested or needed
- Process all outgoing USPS mail and parcels
- Maintain and update USPS postage meter accounts
- Record daily and monthly USPS postage meter account reports for Accounting
- Maintain incoming, outgoing and interoffice mail system
- Notify staff of all service changes and updates
- Respond to, report and coordinate safety, security and damage issues related to incoming and outgoing shipments and use of the driveway and loading dock
- Organize all supplies and equipment of mailroom/loading dock for efficiency and use by staff and vendors
- Train security staff for mailroom/loading dock assistance when required
Secondary or Additional Responsibilities
- Post in the Control Room for officer breaks and other shifts when required
- Assist Control Room officer during emergencies
- Performs other related duties as assigned
