The School of Architecture in the University of Kentucky’s College of Design invites applications for a faculty position in the Lecturer Title Series. Expertise in architecture history and theory with specific knowledge and research on modern Italian architecture is required. Experience teaching core history and theory courses is desirable. This position is a 9-month appointment with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2024, and an initial appointment period of two (2) years to end May 15, 2026, with an option for renewal based upon performance reviews.

All School of Architecture faculty support the school’s design centered curriculum by applying research, professional, and creative expertise to innovative studio, seminar, and/or lecture course offerings. The school seeks candidates with an agenda of scholarly research and/or creative work and who are committed to professional, scholarly, and teaching excellence. Teaching loads may vary from semester to semester. Preferred candidates for these positions must hold a PhD. As a land-grant institution, university and professional service are an expectation.

About the School of Architecture

As the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s sole NAAB accredited Architecture program, UK offers a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, as well as two- and three-year Master of Architecture programs. Established in 1965, the School of Architecture today employs 30 full and part-time faculty, who teach over 300 graduate and undergraduate students.
