Description:

Our Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for producing high-quality products in a safe and efficient manner. We operate within a “Safety First, Quality Always” framework and continuously strive for improvement. Our Millsboro, DE, site is a Biotechnology Center of Excellence, specializing in the manufacturing, filling, packaging, and distribution of vaccines for animals. The facility handles various production methods, including mammalian, insect, and avian cell culture production; live bird vaccine production; embryonated egg vaccine production; roller bottle vaccine production; bioreactor vaccine production; and downstream processing (e.g., water-in-oil emulsions, aseptic filling, and lyophilization).

Key Responsibilities:

Under the direction of department supervision and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols, the Manufacturing Operations Technician will:

  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including floors, walls, tables, and other surfaces.
  • Prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware and equipment.
  • Assist in equipment setup and operation.
  • Perform aseptic procedures, including product formulation, equipment setup, and environmental monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate and concurrent records, including charts, logbooks, and documentation.
  • Formulate, fill, label, cap, package, and visually inspect vaccines.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Assist in training new team members.
  • Report non-routine or unusual occurrences during tasks.
  • Handle and manage hazardous wastes (where trained).
  • Perform non-aseptic procedures, such as handling poultry for tissue or waste harvesting.
  • Assist in reviewing and developing SOPs and production records.
  • Enter technical data into required systems.
  • Attend training sessions, workshops, and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and requisition laboratory supplies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED with industry-related lab experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with industry or academic lab experience.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 1+ year(s) of lab experience.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and skills to complete assigned tasks.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to follow established procedures to assess solutions.
  • Time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to read, write, and convey information effectively across various levels.
  • Preferred aseptic cleanroom experience.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations and conversions.
  • Physical capability to work standing for extended periods.
