Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Automotive Key Account Manager to join our team at Tektronix (Tek), a leading provider of electronic test and measurement solutions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the automotive industry and a proven track record in managing key accounts and driving business growth. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with our top-tier automotive customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key automotive customers, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Strategic Account Planning: Create and implement comprehensive key account management plans that align with Tek’s objectives and drive revenue growth.
  • Sales and Business Development: Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and actively pursue new customer acquisitions in the automotive sector.
  • Technical Consultation: Provide expert advice on our solutions, helping customers to understand their benefits and values within their applications and systems.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to stay up-to-date with customer needs, industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with extended team, including direct sales, distributor partners, product line, marketing, and customer support, to ensure seamless customer engagement with Tek’s solutions and services.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on account performance, sales forecasts, and market insights for senior management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven track record of success in technical key account management within the automotive industry.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of automotive electronics and testing methodologies. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Sales Acumen: Demonstrated ability of achieving sales targets and driving business growth. Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build rapport and foster long-term relationships with customers.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel at least 50% of time to meet with customers and attend industry events.
