Jr Software Development Engineer

Description:

Our JR SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER will support software development and sustainment processes of the NOPS LANCE system supporting satellite on-orbit and launch activities. Participate in an Agile software development environment to design and develop software builds, provide input to formal testing, assist in integration, and respond to user concerns. Collaborate with engineering staff, operators, customers, and vendors on regular basis to support the engineering process, collect/clarify software requirements, and coordinate integration with COTS products. Maintain software documentation for configuration and baseline control. Additional general areas of responsibility include:

• Support software project and baselines
• Review and provide analysis of software requirements to help determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
• Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
• Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures
• Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas

Position is contingent upon successful contract award.

Experience and Skills:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an existing TS Collateral and be eligible for an immediate elevation to TS/SCI with polygraph
• BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Knowledge of Agile methodology
• Software language knowledge: Java, C, C++

Desired Skills/Experience

• General understanding of launch vehicle and satellite launch ascent, test, and on-orbit operational processes, practices, and procedures
• General knowledge of systems engineering practices, requirements management, and sustainment/logistics practices
