Investment Fund Accountant

Description:

JCW is currently working on behalf of an American asset management firm whose global presence has positioned them as a leader in alternative investment strategies, including investments in credit, private equity, real assets and listed equities. They are looking to bring in an AVP to join their Infrastructure Investment team in New York City. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the books and records for various private partnerships and accounts, as well as reporting to clients and the portfolio group. Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and maintaining the books and records of pooled private investment funds organized as limited partnerships and/or separate accounts
• Accounting for and reconciliation of cash, investments and real property; accounting for complex corporate actions
• Reviewing of income and expense allocations to each partner, including updating of distribution waterfall based on the terms of the governing documents
• Reviewing of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to clients

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• CPA required
• Minimum 10-14 years relevant accounting or audit experience with a mix of Big Four public
• Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis
