Description:
With some supervision from the Manager of Architecture and/or Senior Designers, takes responsibility for executing a variety of design and technical tasks on projects of any size with focus on interior design.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepares background drawings, as built drawings and finish, and furniture inventory for projects.
- Prepares design program documents and schematic design presentation documents.
- Carries out design tasks of limited scope (space planning, alternative studies, elevation studies, furniture selections, finish selections, etc.)
- Assist in the preparation of digital and physical material sample boards.
- Assists in the preparation of specifications (providing manufacturer information, limited editing tasks)
- Prepares interior related schematic, design development, and construction documents (furniture plans, millwork, schedules, etc.).
- Assist in construction administration of projects with review of RFIs, submittals and samples.
- As appropriate may run entire project of limited scope.
- Manage in-house material library.
- Provide mentorship and embrace opportunities for learning with less experienced staff throughout the course of the project.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Employment Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture or Interior Design
Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in an Interior Design role
- Complete NCIDQ examination eligibility requirements for the NCIDQ exam
Skills/Competencies:
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUP and/or other rendering software, the Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office products
- Knowledge of industry vendors
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Excellent organizational skills
