Description:
Music & Arts is seeking an Instrument Repair Technician to repair and maintain musical instruments, ensuring they are returned in excellent playing condition. The technician may specialize in brass, woodwind, orchestral, or percussion instruments or work across multiple types.
The role requires high-quality craftsmanship, the ability to provide accurate repair estimates, and adherence to timelines and cost efficiency.
Clean and repair one or more types of musical instruments (brass, woodwind, orchestral, or percussion)
Provide accurate repair estimates to customers
Work on a timetable to complete repairs efficiently
Repair both customer-owned and retail instruments, from student-level to professional-grade
Ensure all repair work meets high-quality standards
Participate in repair clinics or school events as needed
✅ High School Diploma or equivalent
✅ Apprenticeship or diploma from an accredited repair school
✅ 6+ years of experience in musical instrument repair (preferred)
✅ Ability to work in a noise-filled environment
✅ Ability to lift, push, and pull instruments and cases up to 75 lbs
✅ Comfortable working with mild cleaning chemicals
✅ Passionate about music and customer service
Standing, sitting, and walking as needed
Lifting and handling of instruments up to 75 pounds
Exposure to noise and mild cleaning chemicals
