Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for developing instructional design skills to articulate course design, apply learning objectives/outcomes, and select appropriate technologies and tools to achieve academic goals for the Train New Trainers (TNT) Fellowships education programs within the Office of Medical Education. Under the direction of Associate Dean and TNT Administrative Director, this position will consult with subject matter experts (SMEs), faculty and staff on on-going course development work and help meet delivery timelines and scope on new projects, assignments, and initiatives. The instructional designer will collaborate with SMEs, faculty and staff to determine methods for delivery of course content and effective use of technology that promotes learner engagement and knowledge acquisition in accordance with evidence-based pedagogies and established procedures and schedules. The instructional designer will deploy content on learning management platforms and monitor course progress during the cohorts. They will work in a collaborative manner with team members to prioritize work assignments, conduct analysis, and development recommendations.


Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of e-learning strategies including but not limited to courses (e.g., processes and technologies, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of instructional design principles and learning strategies, including needs analysis, backwards design, learning outcomes and assessment design, and instructional approaches including lecture, discussion, activities, projects, etc.
  • Proficiency in analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, collaboration and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of editing, design and production on digital media platforms.
  • Working knowledge and skills with relevant business software systems.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of organization policies and procedures, including policies that impact online course development.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning theories and education methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of the technical tools and platforms required to achieve the delivery of engaging and media-rich online learning content, and of trends in the use and effectiveness of educational technology and learning.
  • Working knowledge of functional area and understands how work within one course may impact work being done on other courses or in other areas.
  • Proficiency in planning, resourcing and monitoring effective design life cycles of training and other learning and performance solutions to support the organization.
