Description:
Montgomery College, Assessment and Testing Centers unit, is currently seeking to hire a full-time Instructional Assistant. Under the supervision and direction of the assessment and testing center manager, the Instructional Assistant will provide instructional support to students and faculty to facilitate teaching and learning. The work is technical or paraprofessional in nature and is designed to support academic disciplines, testing, and information technology.
The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some evening and weekend hours and traveling between college campus and locations. This position is not eligible for telework. This is a grade 23,

Job Duties Include but are not limited to:
- Maintain inventory of supplies and materials, computer hardware and software and associated parts, manuals, and documentation; laboratory supplies and equipment, or technical or trades tools, materials, and equipment; and text, manuals, guides, and other learning resources.
- May maintain statistics regarding student use of learning resources and prepares reports and other written materials regarding operation of laboratories, centers, and learning resources.
- Provide system software training and end user support.
- Provide information on the use of instructional technology (e.g., computers and software applications) to students.
- Assist with resource materials, research, select and/or recommend such materials, and answer questions regarding the use of such materials.
- Administer assessment and other tests to students.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and materials, computer hardware and software, including associated parts, manuals, and other documentation, laboratory supplies and equipment, or technical and trade tools, materials and equipment, and other learning resources.
- Provides effective and clear written and verbal communication to students, faculty, and stakeholders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a relevant field that provides an understanding of the field or any equivalent combination of education and training.
- Two years’ experience employing methods and techniques in instructional technology and assisting students in understanding the assigned subject area.
- Demonstrated knowledge of modern office procedures and practices, using personal computers and instructional technology.
- Evidence of working effectively in a diverse environment.
- Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.
