Institutional Business Development Analyst

 

Description:

The Institutional Business Development Analyst will be responsible for supporting business development teams across client channels and asset classes for SLC Management. The individual will be a member of the sales support team and partner closely with the broader sales team and distribution leaders.

In addition to a primary focus on distribution, the successful candidate will partner with functional groups across SLC Management, including the Salesforce and analytics team, client relationships, marketing, client solutions, portfolio management and product management. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing insights and recommendations in effort to support SLC Management’s distribution strategy. We are a data-driven distribution team and the hire will provide timely analytical support, data management and industry related insights.

 

Key priorities will include assisting with Salesforce data management, meeting support (agendas, research, and presentation materials), tracking prospect and consultant follow-ups and ensuring data consistency across the business development teams. Additionally, the role will help maintain our internal infrastructure, including market segmentation and special projects/initiatives.

What you will do:

· Act as point of contact for Salesforce activity, including data management and reporting · Ensure data accuracy and consistency across business development teams

  • Support the sales process through the entire cycle, including target market analysis, qualifying prospects, preparing pre-meeting templates and following up with the sales team’s active sales calling program
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people
  • Conduct research and identify appropriate contacts at prospect firms
  • Build presentations and prepare documents for sales teams
  • Participate in developing and reviewing RFP documents
  • Track progress on sales initiatives and follow up effectively with various stakeholders
  • Produce reports for the distribution and management teams
  • Analyze search activity to determine new business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain knowledge across the full range of products and systems
  • Partner with marketing on the creation of communication materials; use critical reading and editing skills to ensure materials produced further the development of our brand
  • Maintain collaborative and productive relationships across a matrix organization, including with portfolio managers, senior leaders, product management, marketing and compliance teams
  • Support and complete special projects as required by the team

 

What you will need to succeed:

  • Relevant financial services experience through internship preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree as well as relevant internships
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Interest in financial markets and institutional asset management
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills with ability to make clear recommendations, advise and influence
  • Excel in a rapidly changing environment with tight deadlines, including the skill to prioritize projects, ad-hoc requests, and daily task to ensure timely and accurate delivery
  • Detail-oriented and demonstrated strength in analysis; ability to identify and communicate trends and patterns in data; able to assimilate large quantities of data into clear, concise summaries
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of business ethics and integrity
  • Ability to manage projects from start through completion
  • CRM experience (Salesforce preferred)
