DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Computer Skills

  • Performs work that contributes to the operational support of application systems and programs that support and advance work operations within the organization.
  • Assists in evaluation system requirements, definitions, analysis of alternative solutions, and recommending courses of action to select and maintain hardware and software to support NASM systems.
  • Adept at navigating computer hardware and software environments to perform routine or technical operations such as configuring end-user access, troubleshooting applications, identifying system or end-user errors, and maintaining information security policies and procedures.

Information Management

  • Serves as an IT Specialist responsible for coordinating the delivery and deployment of approved institutional technologies by partnering with the Information Technology Department – NASM to facilitate organizational objectives and services.
  • Supports aspects or portions of projects conducted to develop, modify, enhance, and implement systems, software, and technologies that will improve the effectiveness of the institutions services and operations.
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks associated with data communications and assures proper integration of integral data network modules and components.

Technical Competence/Problem Solving

  • Provides technical support by troubleshooting end-user issues related to networking, service interruptions, incident response management, accessibility, connectivity, managing deployment of software and operating systems, installing, and configuring technologies, and developing procedures to access or utilize new technologies.
  • Reads and incorporates policies, standards, and procedures concerning the operations, maintenance, management, troubleshooting, and other technical requirements for institutional IT hardware and software technologies.
  • Participates in projects and tasks associated with defining ADP systems program specifications, program development, test and evaluation procedures, documentation, user training, implementation, and maintenance.
  • General understanding of organizational infrastructure to include the location of both physical and virtual of networks, hardware, systems, and applications and their relationship and placement within the enterprise IT architecture.
