Description:
Responsible for evaluating future vehicle designs, via virtual, immersive, and traditional physical methods, to develop and optimize procedures for use in mechanical service information authoring and validation. The goal is to enable development of first time quality service information, which will support fast Global Vehicle Development Process and reduction in physical property.
The Immersive Engineer will manage various engineering projects, processes, budgets, and timelines for vehicle structures making any necessary adjustments to ensure its successful on time completion. This includes providing feedback on the direction, development, validation, and implementation of common service information across all platforms.
What You’ll Do:
Provide technical expertise in the virtual/immersive area for vehicle structures
Communicate between regions and facilitate alignment of global processes and requirements
Use both on-vehicle as well as virtual and immersive tools to create optimized service procedures, incorporating accurate steps while understanding labor time impact
Content creation and testing support for future tool pilots and development
Identify service special tool reuse and/or potential tool development needs
Perform virtual evaluation and validation of Service Requirements on GM’s global future vehicle designs
Support global Service Engineering team with serviceability design reviews and special requests for virtual assessments
Identify and document vehicle serviceability issues
Support various Customer Care and Aftersales teams including engineering, warranty center, technical assistance, service training, brand quality, assembly plants, field support, marketing, purchasing, supply chain, warehousing, etc.
Perform special assignments as requested.
