Description:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as a liaison with radiology technologists and radiologists.
- Answers scanning protocol questions from radiology technologists in an appropriate and timely manner, referring questions to radiologists as needed.
- Requests additional images, reconstructions, etc. from radiology technologists as directed by radiologists.
- Clarifies orders from referring physicians as needed.
- Calls referring physicians to facilitate reporting results as appropriate.
- Helps manage the turn-around times for radiology examinations so that the reads are performed in accordance with expectations.
- Helps in maintaining quality assurance of radiology studies.
- Helps serve as a liaison for technical support between radiologists and the IT section at Washington University.
- Populates imaging worklists for conferences.
- Coordinates reading room worklists for studies performed outside of the medical campus to be read on the medical campus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified radiology technologist or bachelor's degree related to health science.
