STC National seeks a part time Operations and Human Resources Director to manage the organization’s human resources and operations. This role includes but is not limited to: managing our HR policies as defined by our HR Manual and serving as liaison with our PEO; supporting the organization’s operations to ensure success; working with our city leaders ensuring optimal implementation of our curriculum. Major Responsibilities

HR and Staffing:

Ensure compliance with federal, state and city policies and processes
Manage employee onboarding and new hire screening and documentation process
Manage all job postings and hiring for staff and consultants
Act as point person for employee relations and support; answer sensitive and nonsensitive HR questions/resolve issues ranging from payroll and benefits to medical and parental leave to organizational policies
Act as liaison with Justworks, our PEO
Administer annual training and surveys
Support all staff with communications, professional development, and team building to improve morale and collaboration while working remotely in 4 cities
With the Leadership team, promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
Ensure compliance with and accuracy of organizational Employee Handbook
Inform staff of HR related updates or changes
Recommend and evaluate new opportunities to build efficient and effective processes to enhance the employee experience and support the organization's growth.
Operations

Manage organization operations to ensure that STC staff have access to the tools and platforms they need for success (software, hardware)
Train staff on systems and act as admin, adding and removing users and special access
Act as Salesforce champion to train staff and improve implementation in order to optimize its use as a contact management tool
Maintain and update the STC Google Drive and Dropbox. Clarify usage and develop an effective organization and document retention plans
Research, evaluate and make recommendations for new tools
Purchase new hardware, software and office supplies as needed
Provide general office support - pay invoices, order supplies.
General management and support for our Development, Program and Marketing teams:

Support the program team by creating and submitting DOE work orders and invoices, acting as billing contact and following up on payments
Support the program team by helping to optimize program scheduling to reach as many students as possible
Update and maintain active school contact lists, STC school network and respond to new network and partner requests
Support City Leaders to build the Volunteer program by identifying, recruiting, and coordinating a community of volunteers from a variety of industries to participate in our programming
With Marketing & Communications, develop plans to engage the STC schools and network throughout the year
Support the Development team by providing documents for grants and tracking grant submissions and follow up reports, updating status when won/lost, sending acknowledgements, etc.
Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Minimum of three years of professional experience working in the non-profit and/or education sector; familiarity or experience with urban education, career readiness and STEM experience strongly preferred.
Passion for ensuring that all children - particularly traditionally underrepresented students – have access to high quality educational options.
Stellar communication and interpersonal skills: very responsive to emails, calls and other forms of communication.
Excellent at completing timely follow-up from meetings and discussions (ex: sending out meeting minutes, keeping shared folders updated etc.).
Proven history of effectively building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Experience successfully managing multiple projects to meet goals and priorities.
Focus on outcomes with a drive to go above and beyond to push projects forward.
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit; able to create structure out of ambiguity and solve problems on own initiative.
Ability to work well both independently and with a team; skilled in identifying and leveraging others' skills to realize goals
Thrives in a fast-paced growth environment; adaptive, optimistic, diplomatic, resourceful.

Proficiency in Salesforce and common technical tools (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace – Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets - Dropbox) required; proficiency in specialized digital tools preferred (social media).
