Honors Curatorial Assistant

Description:

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Operations, the Curatorial Assistant supports the Virginia Tech Honors College’s participation in the 2025 Biennale Architecture Exhibition. This position will work closely with the planning committee and the co-curators Anne-Lise Velez and Enric Ruiz Geli to help initiate and implement the exhibition spaces in the Palazzo Bembo and the Marinaressa Gardens in Venice, Italy. This position will also be responsible for procuring visual images, captions, credit lines, and rights for printing and publication purposes as well as scheduling the Summer 2025 programming at the pavilion in the Marinaressa Gardens.

This is a part-time, hourly position restricted to the duration of the Biennale project and would run from October 2024 to December 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for a new professional to gain curatorial experience. A successful candidate would be particularly available to work in the mornings, given the time difference in Italy. This position will also require sporadic international travel to Venice during the academic year and the summer to support planned and emergent on-site needs.
