High School Music And Choir Teacher

Join our classical, Catholic academy to help introduce students to the sacred and secular musical tradition of Western civilization, teaching 9th-12th grade music and choir. Students are taught singing and aural skills, musicology, and music theory. Choir studies follow a historical timeline: freshman year begins with the ancient and medieval periods followed by a steady progression through Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and contemporary music periods. For those students who have particular gifts for musical performance, an extracurricular chamber choir and chant schola are also available.

Time commitment: 1-2 school days per week, 4-6 hours total. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Teacher shall be a practicing Roman Catholic and demonstrate a commitment to Catholic secondary education.
Candidate should have a bachelor's degree or greater in a relevant field
Experience with
Experience in a classical school environment is desirable.
Previous experience in secondary school education is desirable.
Teacher shall adhere to the Chesterton Schools Network mission and curriculum.
