Description:
Reporting to the VP, Credit Risk Management, TD Securities, the VP, Credit Risk, Hedge Fund and Prime Brokerage is an executive leader within the Bank's Risk Management team.
This role is the primary 2nd line of defense accountability for TD Securities Credit risk for Hedge Fund and Prime Brokerage Risk.
Key Accountabilities include, but not limited to:
Accountable for developing and implementing second line risk oversight and risk management strategies for hedge fund and prime brokerage activities, aligned with the organization's risk appetite and regulatory requirements
Oversee counterparty credit risk of Prime Brokerage and Hedge Fund counterparties including monitoring credit exposures, overseeing risk strategies though credit exposure monitoring, collateral management, credit risk framework, policies, limits and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Assessing and recommending TD Securities credit related strategies, policies and procedures
Monitoring the credit risk within TD Securities; and developing a thorough understanding of TD Securities businesses
Effectively challenge, propose and champion projects to improve efficiencies, in order to provide more effective business support and credit risk management oversight.
Take ownership and challenge process designs to effectively and efficiently deliver changes.
Oversight of CRM's monitoring and control procedures and documentation.
Decisioning and effectively challenge assigned credit risk requests within delegated authority in a timely manner and as appropriate.
Monitor and manage credit risk and credit quality across TD Securities
Leads the stress testing and scenario analysis exercises to evaluate the resilience of the portfolios under various market conditions
Identifies potential vulnerabilities and recommend risk mitigation strategies to senior management
Identifies emerging risks and concentrations that could impact the organization's risk profile
Continuous review of all processes/procedures/controls to ensure that the business, control and infrastructure functions are meeting the organization's requirements with respect to effective risk management
Maintains effective working relationships between all areas of Risk Management, including Regulators, Government Affairs, Legal, and Compliance. Ensures regulatory and risk issues are managed effectively and communicated through appropriate governance bodies and channels
Ensure compliance with the Bank's Risk Appetite and Risk Framework
Actively participates in Regulatory Reviews
Collaborate with business partners which includes, sharing knowledge and identifying opportunities to leverage complementary skills. Partner with our stakeholders to drive and support change and to assist in meeting the Bank's objectives.
Maintain understanding of key risk and risk-related issues through continual review of risk reports/related data and dialogue with relevant parties.
Understand and comply with TD Policies, regulatory and compliance requirements.
Develop and foster strong relationships to improve the understanding and communication of credit risk and/or other key risk management issues.
Contribute to a cohesive team and positive work environment.
Oversight/endorsement/participation in new TDS business initiatives
Establish and maintain productive working relationships with the various business heads supported, as well as with the local Regulators
Directing, developing, and recruiting staff to enable them to meet challenges, department objectives and an opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Job Requirements
Risk Management expertise supporting Prime Brokerage and Hedge Funds
Product knowledge of equity, fixed income, and derivatives and capital markets experience
Subject matter expertise in credit risk assessment, governance and control process
Deep understanding of all aspects of credit policy and credit life cycle processes
Expert knowledge of treasury business
Financial Markets Proficiency
Regulatory Knowledge
Previous experience leading in a GSIB financial institution, an asset
Quantitative expertise across a wide variety of domains
Effective stakeholder management with a professional partner-focused approach; a collaborator with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization
Expertise in working effectively in teams – requires a track record of working cross-organizationally and with multiple stakeholders at varying levels
Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Skillful communication (written and verbal), negotiation and partnership skills to balance stakeholder input but remain objective to reach the right outcome

Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.
Specific Educational Requirements:
Undergraduate degree required
An MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Economics ,Math or related field is preferred.
