How You Can Make an Impact:
The Healthcare Content Writer serves as a technical storyteller, a connector, and a creator for the strategic marketing team on behalf of McKesson Health Systems.
How You’ll Spend Your Day:
- Technical storytelling – This person speaks the healthcare industry language and can translate it into masterful storytelling that persuades and engages both internal and external audiences.
- Management and Optimization of the Content Hub, Prescribed Perspectives – This individual is responsible for maintaining Prescribed Perspectives’ editorial calendar, the ideation and creation of new and repurposed industry content for the content hub, as well as working with Web Ops to publish content each week through intake forms and appropriate imagery. This person should also closely monitor analytics, generating a report of performance each month and periodic plans for further optimization.
- Responsible for writing, copyediting, and publishing original and curated industry content weekly to the content hub. Works directly with SMEs to interview and tailor messages accordingly.
- Additionally, this person works with the team responsible for Marketo emails to compile and deploy a monthly newsletter to subscribed members.
- Works with social media team to ensure copy and imagery for this content is also shared to amplify content hub content at the end of each month.
- Subject Matter Expertise Support – Build rapport with subject matter experts and leaders, working closely with them to draft content for the content hub and promote external opportunities by repurposing them on the hub.
- Public Relations – Partner with public relations manager to identify opportunities for MHS thought leaders to gain thought leadership on key topics. This person will draft bylined articles, talking points, etc., and, in partnership with PR manager, prepare leaders for external opportunities, as needed.
- Relationship Management – Maintain relationships with content creators across McKesson (beyond Health Systems) to ensure alignment and identify areas to collaborate, where possible.
- General Editing and Editorial Guidance – Support fellow team members on copy related to product/solution launches related to upcoming campaigns and collaborate to generate creative ideas for content promotion via thought leadership.
- Effectively builds relationships across the enterprise to ensure project deadlines, goals and outcomes are met.

What You’ll Need
- Typically requires 4+ years of relevant healthcare journalism, marketing, communications or related experience
- The ability to translate technical industry verbiage into masterful storytelling is a MUST (preferably within the healthcare industry)
- Must be proficient in MS Office (word, excel, powerpoint) with the ability to give thoughtful and succinct presentations at all levels (including executive levels)
- 4-year degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent of related experience
