We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Sales to lead the Spirits Business Unit in the USA.
Job Summary:
The Head of Sales will be responsible for driving sales through business development and growing the sales team. This role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans, cultivating relationships with key clients, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, strategic thinker passionate about understanding customer needs and delivering tailored solutions.
Responsibilities Include:
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a national sales team providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve sales targets.
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and prospects within the beverage industry.
- Sales Strategy and Execution: Define and implement a commercial strategy. Identify and cultivate sales opportunities, focusing on expanding revenue.
- CRM Utilization: Utilize CRM systems, including proficiency in Salesforce, to analyze data, track sales activities, and execute effective sales strategies.
- Training and Development: Train, develop, evaluate, and supervise sales associates and representatives to ensure consistent performance and growth.
- Communication: Effectively communicate and sell ideas, concepts, and programs internally and externally.
- Consultative Selling: Implement consultative, solution-based selling techniques to address client needs and provide tailored solutions, and push for cross-selling securing team collaboration.
- Account Management: Prospect and develop new accounts while nurturing existing client relationships to secure additional projects and upsell opportunities. Manage relationships with agents, third-party OEMs, and distributors.
- Contract Negotiation: Set product/project scope parameters, establish pricing policies, and negotiate contracts to drive profitability. Maximize share of wallet with key accounts.
To be considered for this position you will have:
- Education: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Sales, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven track record in leading sales efforts, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in building and leading a sales team. Experience in beverage bottling, filling, and packaging machinery is highly preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional communication and organizational skills with a demonstrated history of maintaining strong customer relationships.
- CRM Proficiency: Proficiency in utilizing a CRM system to analyze and execute on data; familiarity with Salesforce is an asset.
- Leadership: Proven ability to train, develop, evaluate, and supervise sales associates and representatives.
- Sales Techniques: Demonstrated ability to effectively sell ideas, concepts, and programs both internally and externally.
- Prospecting: Track record of successfully prospecting and developing new accounts while also maintaining and renewing existing accounts.
- Contract Negotiation: Ability to translate client needs into concrete solutions and experience in setting product/project scope parameters, establishing pricing policies, and negotiating contracts.
- Travel: Willingness to travel nationally 40-50% of the time and occasionally on an international basis.
