Description:

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

  • Leading a community solar origination team to expand the project pipeline in designated markets.
  • Developing market strategies for community solar projects in accordance with state policies.
  • Formulating short-term and long-term development plans to align with the company's business objectives.
  • Fostering the growth and empowerment of the community solar origination team.
  • Identifying and pursuing community solar project development opportunities, including site assessment and feasibility studies.
  • Identifying potential local partners for co-development and leading negotiations for project acquisition or partnership structures.
  • Engaging consultants to support project development activities.
  • Conducting market and regulatory research to inform development strategies.
  • Providing support to cross-functional teams including Legal, Engineering, Finance, and Project Management.
  • Conducting financial modeling to evaluate project economics.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks, providing recommendations to executive management.


Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in the solar industry or related field.
  • Demonstrated success in developing large-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Superior communication and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
