Description:
Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role:
- Designing electrical wiring harnesses to include component selection for connectors, back shells, sleeving, braiding, sealants, boots, transitions, etc.
- This position will be determining harness layout through vehicle and branch points for multi-branch harnesses.
- Designing to environmental requirements for temperature, shock, vibration, submergence and exposure to harsh chemicals.
- Work directly in Capital Harness System (CHS) (aka Mentor Graphics) software, specifically in Harness XC, Capital Logic and Capital Topology
Secondary Tasks:
- Working with CAD draftsman to route harnesses in 3D CAD tools (Pro-E and/or NX).
- Will also work with CAD team to develop release drawings for harnesses, electrical installations, wiring diagrams and related.
- Works with Systems Engineers to define whole vehicle pin-level interconnect.
- Works with Physical Architects to define harness routing channels, space claims in the vehicle.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Sought:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 5+-year work experience is desired in an engineering role.
- Ability to balance cost/schedule/technical priorities.
- Experience with Microsoft Visio desirable.
- Experience with Capital Harness System (CHS) (aka Mentor Graphics) software, specifically in Harness XC, Capital Logic and Capital Topology required.
- Experience with Pro-E Creo desirable.
- Experience with NX desirable.
- Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use Engineering Development and Test Tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Strong record keeping skills.
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
