Currently, we are recruiting for Guest Experience Assistants (Temporary) to join our team. The Guest Experience Assistant performs a variety of duties related to supporting museum guests including, but not limited to back office administrative support, special exhibitions support, and crowd control. The incumbent interacts with many different individuals and groups and plays a critical role in supporting visitors in having an enjoyable experience at the museum.

The position regularly engages with staff, vendors, visitors, volunteers, members, and colleagues in a personable and respectful manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greets and assists museum guests while maintaining a consistently high level of customer service.
  • Responds to telephone, voicemail, and email inquiries relating to general guest experiences such as ticketing, memberships, group sales, etc., while providing accurate and current museum information.
  • Answers visitor questions and provides information including general knowledge of tickets and memberships as well as museum exhibitions, policies, and programs.
  • Welcomes visitors, controls access, scans tickets, and supports crowd control.
  • Greets group tours, assists with the information desk, assists with coat checks, distributes media devices, assists with special exhibitions guest experience support, and assists with providing breaks to team members.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma and one (1) year of customer service experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to handle large groups with patience and firm instructions.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to interact with museum staff, volunteers, and the general public in a courteous, helpful, and efficient manner.
  • Ability to problem-solve, and exercise good judgment and diplomacy at all times.
  • Ability to work weekends, some evenings, some holidays, and Thursday nights.
  • Basic computer skills and comfort using digital devices.
