The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences (“LBIF”) seeks to fill the position of Graphic Designer /Marketing .
We are seeking a talented Assistant with strong graphic design skill-set to join our team. The ideal candidate will also be capable of general office clerical work in addition to:
- Be able to design graphics for various projects such brochures, advertisements, and website content.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop design concepts
- Proficient using InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator software
- Review designs for errors before printing or publishing

Graphic Design Requirements
- Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
-Have strong background and experience in: 1_Print Materials 2_Web Content
Marketing
- Have experience in marketing, advertising sales, developing relationships with clients
Administrative/Clerical Requirements
- Knowledge of front desk operations and office management is a plus
- Familiarity with MS Office for file management
-Excellent writing and editing ability a must
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Prior experience in customer support would be advantageous
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
- Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Because our organization is multidisciplinary in the arts and sciences and offers many programs and experiences for all age groups, of value to the this position would be skill sets and experience in the ARTS and/or SCIENCES and/or ARTS MANAGEMENT and/or ARTS EDUCATION. A college degree is required, such as a BFA or MFA. Individuals with a varied background experience thrive in our fast paced environment.
This position is seasonal in nature, at-will and part-time, and reports to the LBIF’s Executive Director. The candidate MUST live within a 30 minute commute to the LBIF which is located at the north end of Long Beach Island in New Jersey. The position’s term begins November 1, 2024 and ends September 2, 2025. Thereafter, the employment relationship may be extended or renewed by mutual agreement of the parties.
During the weekdays, the responsibilities typically begin at 9am and end at 4 pm. The work time schedule is flexible. The work is performed in-person with the expectation that 7 to 21 hours per week is needed. Our summer season is exceptionally busy and additional hours may be required in July and August of 2025.
The responsibilities and expectation of the Administrative Assistant includes working closely with the Executive Director. A strong work ethic as a valuable member of the staff is very important. The applicant must be a responsible individual who enjoys taking on responsibility, and be part of the overall team effort. As part of the Office Staff general office tasks will be assigned. High level professional writing skills are a must. In general a team member must be able to provide excellent customer service, courtesy when answering phones, sales, varied data entry, respond to patron via email, all with the goal of providing an excellent customer experience at all times. Depending on qualifications, the hourly rate of pay starts at $20.00, and can increase commensurate with experience.
