Description:
The Graphic Designer designs and produces materials as requested by Marketing Department members, attorneys, and other Firm personnel. This position oversees the printing of materials outsourced to vendors and output agencies, maintaining graphic files, website content and editing photography. The Graphic Designer is responsible for brand consistency in print and digital media.
Essential Functions:
1. Designs and produce internal and external marketing materials such as advertisements, brochures, flyers, event materials, newsletters, intranet images, social media graphics, presentations, etc., for the purposes of promoting the legal services of the firm.
2. Updates the firm website with graphic elements using Ceros.
3. Formats, edits and color corrects photos and video. Assist with video. Posts final to external channels (firm website, YouTube, etc.).
4. Manipulates bio photos as necessary to be consistent within template parameters. Maintains bio photo library and archive.
5. Assists attorneys and other firm personnel in the design/creation of presentation materials such as charts, signage, proposal images, court props, etc., utilizing various desktop and word processing software including PowerPoint and InDesign.
6. Researches photos using royalty-free stock image resource. Maintains the image library for future use.
7. Responsible for archiving graphic files and maintenance of software. Troubleshoot hardware/software problems, reporting same to Director of Marketing & Client Development; arrange on-site repair as applicable. Assists in the maintenance of marketing collateral inventory as well as paper and printer supplies.
8. Works with vendors for the outsourced printing of marketing materials ensuring deadlines are met, the quality of the final product is adequate, and budget is adhered to.
9. Develops, utilizes, and communicates processes of templates and specifications to facilitate consistency. Shares template information with Marketing team.
10. Researches new design technology and introduce new tools to the Director of Marketing & Client Development and the Marketing Department.
11. Maintains firm branding standards in all media forms. Responsible for proper display of firm logo and related branding activity.
12. Prioritizes, coordinates, and tracks active jobs. Extracts expectations and pertinent information.
Qualifications:
The Graphic Designer must have a bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field preferred, or a comparable level of training such as that which may be acquired through additional work experience. At least three to five years of related work experience required. The Graphic Designer must have a working knowledge of graphic design, electronic publishing, and office applications such as Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and content management and e-communication software (Vuture, custom website CMS). Knowledge of Ceros is a plus. A thorough understanding of branding and the associated elements to ensure brand consistency is required. Working knowledge of pre-press including file preparation, trapping, color correction as well as print buying including print processes and paper stock selection is needed. Effective written/verbal communication and creative design skills. General technical knowledge to maintain print inventory, firm website assets and other files.
