Description:

Excellent opportunity for a versatile and well-rounded graphic designer to join the Brand Team at an exciting new company. You will have the opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge to design creative and engaging visuals that will help us to meet design needs. The position responsibilities include internal and external facing design work and production. This is a full-time hybrid role, 60% home, 40% in our office in Troy, MI.

What you get to do

  • Conceptualize and design visuals based on creative briefs or a brand book within project requirements. Be able to layout and prepare materials for digital and/or printed specifications.
  • Understand and create various on-brand designs with requirements for targeted presentations, digital ads, infographics, web and app development.
  • Prepare required event materials, including schematics, layouts, branding, signage, collateral, presentations, etc.
  • Setup and utilize Adobe CC libraries to streamline the design process and ensure brand consistency across all projects.
  • Collaborate and execute executive presentations within Microsoft PowerPoint as well as Keynote. Presentations should be dynamic, uniquely branded and thoughtfully crafted based on approved theme and messaging.
  • Understand printing documents and packaging materials, including prep and preflight of files for screen printing, offset printing, etc.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies, art services, editorial and digital teams, printers and leaders as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and execute design solutions that meet project objectives.
  • Communicate with co-workers, various departments and leadership to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback into design concepts.
  • Keep an organized schedule to properly and efficiently complete various tasks, account for proofing/reviewing of materials and successfully make deadlines.
  • Utilize digital project management tools to track and prioritize tasks and communicate with other team members and departments.
  • Familiarity with using and implementing Digital Asset Management tools and utilizing metadata and keywords.
  • Open to discussion and problem-solving regarding department practices and procedures with Creative Director, Head of Brand and Digital Teams.
  • Must be able to follow job from beginning (design, layout and preparing job for print) to end (final pre-press approval)

What you bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or Marketing and 4 - 6 years related experience and training or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • Ability to take charge of projects to ensure creative requests and deadlines are met.
  • Open to taking direction and making changed when necessary.
  • Organizational ability to track files and progress associated with projects and maintain department’s digital assets and archives.
  • Multi-Tasking abilities and flexibility to shift between projects and priorities as necessary
  • Working on project collaboratively and independently.
  • Understanding and applying corporate and brand identity to a variety design mediums.
  • Must have expert knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint and CC Libraries. Premiere, After Effects, MailChimp, is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in both PC and Mac environments.
  • Familiarity with Digital Project Management Tools
  • Ambition to learn new hard skills and be a self-teacher when necessary.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
