What We Do

  • Film Exhibition — Public film programs year-round including the SFFILM Festival—the longest running film festival in the Americas, Doc Stories documentary series, star-studded special events, and family programming.
  • Youth Education — Special screenings, workshops, camps, and learning opportunities for more than 13,000 Bay Area students and educators all designed by SFFILM Education to cultivate media literacy, global citizenship, and a lifelong love of movies.
  • Artist Development — SFFILM Makers is the home of independent filmmaking in the Bay Area with direct artist grants, residencies, and tailored support for a next generation of films and filmmakers.

Possible Projects

Create and design all print and digital assets for SFFILM’s main events as assigned, project-mapped and budgeted. This might include: Doc Stories, Awards Night, and the 68th San Francisco International Film Festival.

  • Create key art, style guides, and designs by project or campaign
  • Present mockups and presentations for feedback from the Communications team and other internal stakeholders
  • Produce a variety of digital, print, and advertising and promotional assets
  • Implement consistent brand identity across a diverse array of materials.
  • Manage multiple projects from concept to completion, adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Collaborate with SFFILM’s seasonal in-house Graphic Designer.

Qualifications and Proposal Materials

Please show and tell us how your professional experience meets the following:

  • Experience with branding, composition, and typography
  • Ability to both integrate and elevate brand and client personality into design
  • Experience meeting deadlines and working under compressed timelines.
  • Fluency responding to, balancing, and integrating client feedback
  • Able to produce a thorough and actionable style guide.
  • Fluency in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Proficiency in After Effects is a plus
  • Superior file management skills (tracking and archiving)
  • Clear, direct, and professional communication style
  • Nimble and detail oriented, experience working with grid systems
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations a must
  • Experience designing for an arts organization a plus
