Description:
The Creative Media Assistant - Graphic Design is responsible for the support and development of graphic design, digital and web-based projects for the Alabama Community College System. The Creative Media Assistant works closely with System Office communications staff and others to maintain consistent, timely flow of creative media resources that promote the ACCS and are in line with the ACCS Communications Office Strategic Plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- With guidance from the Creative Media Administrator, produce and edit well-developed content for use in System and statewide media, including promotional materials such as brochures, PowerPoint presentations, graphic design, typography, photography, videos, newsletters, and web design.
- Assist the Webmaster with any web-related needs, including creating websites
- Maintain an inventory of photos and other elements that appear on the system’s Internet /Intranet websites.
- Maintain the content that appears on publishing projects and the system’s Internet /Intranet websites.
- Refresh ACCS’s Internet / Intranet website content to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information and images.
- Utilize appropriate software to prepare print-ready electronic files for proof and final print.
- Work with detailed layouts, resizing of images, and combining pages into usable and printable formats.
- Develop and maintain reports, guidelines, and strategies that best preserve and promote the ACCS brand both internally and with external special events/projects.
- Provide marketing support within the System Office and to media and marketing teams systemwide through resources and training.
- As requested, assist with ACCS digital and print communication plans in coordination with all System Office divisions.
- Assist with the daily operations of the External Affairs Division, such as answering and placing telephone calls, taking messages, distributing mail, and managing incoming media requests to ensure proper dissemination to the appropriate External Affairs team member.
- Support System Office communications staff with various projects, including photography, social media, web design, videography, and graphic design.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
- Build and maintain positive working relationship with all 24 colleges’ communications/public relations teams and across the System Office.
- Develop presentation content for ACCS executive staff.
- Produce marketing research as needed for use in market studies, project needs, and strategic planning.
- Produce regular reports on the External Affairs Division’s project activities and production.
