Global Competitive Intelligence Lead

The role requires a proactive and collaborative leader who can synthesize complex information into clear recommendations that inform portfolio strategy, product positioning, and long-term growth.

Here’s What You’ll Do
 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global competitive intelligence strategy aligned with Moderna’s corporate objectives, with a focus on mRNA platforms, vaccines, and other therapeutic areas.
  • Monitor and analyze competitor pipelines, clinical trial data, regulatory strategies, commercial activities, and market trends to provide insights on competitive threats and opportunities.
  • Deliver competitor insights that inform product development, launch strategies, and lifecycle management across Moderna’s portfolio.
  • Evaluate the reliability of competitive intelligence research findings, upholding stringent standards for accuracy, relevance, and quality in all deliverables, and effectively communicate the level of evidence to stakeholders.
  • Lead intelligence gathering across all regions, ensuring insights are tailored to the nuances of both established and emerging markets.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across R&D, Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Market Access to align CI outputs with business priorities and support strategic initiatives.
  • Present actionable insights to senior leaders, therapeutic area leads, and global teams to influence decision-making at the highest levels.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, industry analysts, and CI professionals to enhance intelligence capabilities.
  • Continuously improve CI frameworks and methodologies, leveraging digital tools and automation to ensure efficiency and accuracy in intelligence delivery.

     

Here’s What You’ll Bring To The Table
 

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of competitive intelligence, strategy, or related experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Proven experience leading CI strategies and delivering actionable insights at a global scale.
  • Strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle, regulatory environments, and market access considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into concise, actionable recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including experience presenting insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS, or PhD) in Business, Marketing, Science, or a related field.
  • Specific expertise in vaccines, rare diseases, or oncology.
  • Strong scientific or technical background related to Moderna’s therapeutic focus areas.
  • Experience integrating AI-driven tools and digital platforms into CI frameworks.
  • Knowledge of competitive landscapes in emerging markets and global regions.
  • Established network of industry contacts, including CI vendors and analysts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional collaboration in a matrixed environment.
  • This role is based at our Cambridge HQ and offers the flexibility to work remotely up to 30% of the time. Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to the greater Boston area. The role requires a high level of collaboration and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
