Global Account Manager

 

Description:

Cogent Communications, a multinational Tier 1 facilities-based ISP, is seeking a Global Account Manager to identify and secure new business opportunities within a global sales territory. This role focuses on direct sales (hunting) to target market segments such as IP Transit, Content Creators/Hosters, Carriers/Wholesalers, and Netcentric companies.

Cogent’s world-class network spans over 228 global markets, enabling it to offer high-speed internet, private network services, IPv4 address leasing, optical transport, and colocation services at highly competitive prices. The Global Account Manager will play a key role in expanding this footprint by leveraging Cogent’s extensive network infrastructure, including commercial buildings, carrier-neutral hotels, data centers, and colocation facilities.


Key Responsibilities

✅ Identify and hunt for new business within a global sales territory.
✅ Use direct calling, emailing, and other contact efforts to engage and qualify key decision-makers.
✅ Conduct onsite customer meetings when needed to advance sales efforts.
✅ Apply consultative selling techniques to understand customer needs and recommend solutions.
✅ Position Cogent’s IP services and connectivity solutions to meet evolving customer requirements.
✅ Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.


Required Skills & Qualifications

✔️ 3-8+ years of B2B sales experience in telecom, especially within colocation, wholesale, data transit, and transport services.
✔️ Strong experience in hunting and new business development.
✔️ Demonstrated ability to generate and close new business through strategic prospecting.
✔️ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
✔️ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with revenue-based deadlines.
✔️ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems preferred.
✔️ College degree preferred but not mandatory.


Work Environment

📍 This is a full-time, in-office position (5 days a week), allowing for focused mentorship, training, and personal coaching to drive success.
